Pramuka Island

Renowned for its Hawksbill Turtle conservation, Pramuka Island offers you a “complete” tropical getaway. Yes, Pramuka Island packs a lot into its 16 ha area. To take in the stunning natural scenery like white sandy beaches and beautiful blue waters, various eco-friendly attractions such as Hawksbill Turtle and mangrove conservation, and even the district administration office. By all means, Pramuka Island is one of only eleven inhabited islands and stands as the administrative center of the Thousand Islands archipelago. Because of its status, you can also find various facilities here, such as a community health center, fish auction, mosques, and also the only senior high school in the archipelago.

If you plan to stay a night or more on this island, Pramuka offers you plenty of affordable and comfortable places to stay or simply you can just go camping near the beach where you can enjoy both crisp blue skies and majestic starry nights. There is also a handful of restaurants offering you fresh local seafood and warm hospitality. For further entertainment, you definitely should try their watersports activities and snap the beautiful underwater shots.

Talking about the Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) conservation shelter, they mainly help to raise young turtles from eggs through to their release into the wild. You can learn a lot about the Hawksbill Turtle itself, take pictures of the adorable turtles and also experience releasing them into the ocean.
