Ereveld Menteng Pulo
The Ereveld, also known as ‘Makam Penghormatan Belanda’ or ‘Ereveld Menteng Pulo’, takes the title of the largest Dutch war cemetery across Java. The special burial complex features the Simultaan Church and the Columbarium, the former still hosts Dutch ceremonial events through the year, and the latter is the spot where ashes of fallen soldiers are laid to rest—a stark reminder of Indonesia’s tumultuous history under colonialism.
